2012 LEGO City (Summer)
Re: 2012 LEGO City (Summer)
Hmm, I agree with lostx that seems more like a "doctor's office" than a hospital size wise. The police station seems so much bigger than this set. The garage for the ambulance is almost bigger than the main building!

We want a hospital not clinic. Why would TLG keep designing their product with inappropriate scale? Diagon Alley, Modular Town Hall, bank, and now the hospital.....
How would I have that much of time and resource to modify each of these buildings?

I agree on the hospital seeming rather small and uninteresting. If they were worried about piece count/price, I would have rather had a larger hospital and a helicopter sold separately.

The way I see it, I'm just glad it's not another police station!

LEGO City 4207 Car Park
Henry contacts us with news that the box art picture for the upcoming LEGO City 4207 Car Park Garage set is now available. This City 2012 set should be available sometime later this year. Looks like the classic Octan Logo is back as well! (via Brickset)

Re: 2012 LEGO City (Summer)
Wow. That car park was on my wishlist for City as "parking garage". It's pretty cool overall, it's my favorite 2012 City set.
In my head, I was hoping for a baseplate sized parking garage. Three levels was a stretch goal as you could still have a cool two level setup if it was baseplate sized (and then just multiple sets to make it as high as you want). It would use ramps to and from each level. Enough parking for 4-6 vehicles per level. Instead of a security booth, I would make it a pay here booth but keep the camera.
That VW bus is awesome and I don't even like VW anything. I do miss the classic swinging doors and gas filler neck. It is nice that they have 4 cars for this set. Buying a couple of these could make for a fun parking garage.

I wish they would have made the hospital set with a bit more to it. Looking forward to the Mining and Car park set.

Agree with the previous poster - the lack of classic swinging doors is a real turn off for me, as is the 4-wide cars. They really should be 6-wide IMHO. Disappointed that this could have been much better.

But why don't they have those doors? I mean, come on, they swing open. That's playability and poseability that I can't believe they want to lose out on.
The mini VW van is pretty nifty though, although not as detailed as it could be.

A bit of real life LEGO construction. I like how the "SECURITY" sign sticker is put on crooked!

This set is more like a auto/body repair shop to me. Not much space for vehicle parking though. It is outstanding for the idea of security station; however, is it realistic to have a security for a parkade as small as this?
Only VW caught my eyes from this set.

There are places like this all over Chicago (friend worked at one for a while.) The good ones have security booths like this because if its not being watched or isn't bolted down, it is gone in a heartbeat.legohunter wrote:This set is more like a auto/body repair shop to me. As for the size consideration, I would have to say that regardless of size, it's an added feature that I wouldn't mind having.
