Peabody, MA (Northshore Mall) LBS Anniversary

Post by atmail35 » Tue May 28, 2013 8:45 pm

I noticed on the May Calendar that the 1 year anniversary celebration at the Peabody, MA LBS is supposed to be this coming weekend. I looked at S&H and found no information, no email or snail mail has come through.

Does anyone shop at this location regularly an have any idea what may or may not be going on?

I'm wondering if they will have any giveaways with purchase like some other stores have had in the past.

Please post info if you have it, I might try and call the store this week.
Thanks!

I went to Peabody today. There was no one there! They have a large US map set up and you build something and put it on the map. I was pressed for time, so I didn't build. It's by the Macys.

I spent just over $50 and got Iron Man Drone Poly, B'day Cake set and the Minifig Set. They just combined the offers without me asking, even though the sign on the door said they couldn't be combined. I'm not complaining though!

Also if you have a postcard you get to fill a small PAB ($7.99 value) for free. They had extra postcards at the table by the build and on the counter. Don't forget to ask for it as they initially forgot to give it to me, you do have to fill it then and there. They had purple 1x2 tiles and hot pink 1x4s :-D .

So all in all a $22 "value" for free. They value the poly at $4.99, mf at $9.99.

ETA: I also got an Iron Man 3 Poster.

They had lot of the newer sets so it was easy to spend $50. I was tempted to ask if I could make a second purchase, but didn't want to be greedy.

I'd love to go with my daughter tomorrow, but it's kind of a long drive for me.

Nice! I think (officially) today is the last day for the Iron Man poly promo. Maybe we'll head up there tonight, rather than wait 'til tomorrow?

You are correct, tomorrow it is the Jor-El figure for a $75 purchase

I just noticed in the bag that I received an Iron Man 3 Poster.

Well since it was scorching hot here on Sunday, I decided to take my daughter to Peabody to check out the build. We stopped by the store first to buy some items (shhh Father's Day present for her dad). I was able to get the small PAB cup, Jor-El, B'day Cake poly and 3 minifigure set. Now my daughter and I don't have to fight over the minifigs ;-)

We then headed over to the build. My daughter was happy to run into a few of the Braintree employees. She also chatted with some other LEGO employees. Everyone was very nice. :-D

I made this crab. The available elements is limited so it can be difficult . I would have liked an actual eyeball printed brick ;-) :

My daughter made this. She called it a "random building with tree".

We were told that a 12 year old made this cool building and it took 6 hours.

I was actually there when that kid was building the lego tower, I took my son around 3pm Saturday to build something quick to get the certificate and was at the same table as him. He finished building it while we were still there, one of the lego employees took him back to the store to get a figure to place on top of the building and took his email, to see if they could send him something for his work.

It look like he was there with his mom, grandmother and look like maybe his great grandmother, all taking pictures. People were asking him how long it took him to finish it, he said about 5hrs. So he must of gotten there as soon as they open, since he was done by 3:30pm.

He placed the tower in the middle of the map himself because he said he was afraid the employee would drop it, it look good but the kid was a bit snotty.
