I really like the layout of this set (71006 Simpsons House) and the details they did on it is great. I'll eventually get it and hope its double points when I do get it and also the new modular Parisian Restaurant 10243 is on the want list of sets.

I placed my order on Monday 1/20 and the status is still "Customer Service", but I see the charge as "pending" on my CC. Anxiously awaiting that status change.
Also, I only got the movie poster added to my order, no poly bag.

The city atv poly promo ran through 1/20, perhaps it was out of stock. I do think it was a strange range of dates.

My top 3 "wants" are the 2 that you mentioned plus the Haunted House. I was determined to not like the Simpsons house (because I can't afford it) but after watching a video review I keep thinking of the many reasons why maybe I should buy it. I think of my 3 I'll have to buy the Haunted house first since it has been around longest and I have no idea how much longer it will be around. The Parisian Restaurant is beautiful. I love the details on the exterior.

The Parisian Restaurant and Haunted House are up at the very top of my wanted list too--and I was also harboring hope that I would not be too smitten with the Simpsons House, but after seeing pictures and videos I know it will be a must buy at some point for me as well.

Do you guys think stores will do more creative promotions in the future to get around the no discount rule Lego has put in place for these big "exclusive" sets? I know Target had a day or two where they offered a gift card (not enough to make me bite) if you bought one of 2 or 3 exclusives over the Christmas holiday. And I believe TRU had a promo where you got a free Creator set if you bought one of the bigger sets (but--of course--they hardly had anything in stock at the time of their promo). I am hoping we will see more of that.

If not, I guess the best time to buy these will end up just being 2x or 3x VIP points, right? Any thoughts on what we will see going forward or best times to buy these modulars?

My Simpsons House arrived on Saturday. No bonus except for the poster.

I've only got through Bag 1 so far, but I'm enjoying the build.
