33.3333333333% increase. And yes, I get the gut instinct Lego is using the licensing cost to justify the price increase, and low and behold once it happens, it'll be permantent. I used to buy multiples of every series, until they came out with Mr. Gold. There's no way I could be a completist anymore and the amount I bought dropped drastically. At $4.00 each, that'll discourage me even further. Hrrm, 4 minfigures that might not be what I want, or a small set like 60012...hrrrmmm.peanut wrote:I probably would have gotten about half of the characters but I feel it will only encourage them to keep the new 4 dollar price for all future CMF series. A 30 percent (if i did my math right) increase is a little steep. No doubt they can justify it on paper but my wallet can't.

All 16 minifigures are posted on Lego's facebook page and reposted on eurobricks:
I like the new head moldings.
My favorites are Apu and Mr. Burns.
My favorite accessory is Mr. Burns mutated fish (Blinkly). :)

Wiggum looks awful, mainly due to putting his giant fat head on a regular body. He looks like he went to Jenny Craig. I agree that Burns looks pretty sharp. The price however: do not want!
Who is General Failure and why is he reading my hard disk?

Re: LEGO The Simpsons Series Minifigures (List Revealed)
They all look really lacking. Not worth $4 at all.
Re: LEGO The Simpsons Series Minifigures (List Revealed)
I was determined to not buy them (mainly because I was afraid that I would get sucked in and have to have them all... and because of the price increase) but I have to admit that I really like the Krusty the clown one. He's one of my favorite characters. It looks good and it comes with a pie (nice piece to add to my collection of fun accessories).
Maggie appears to be a variant with a different expression than the one in the LEGO house set. Her teddy bear looks pretty creepy.
I have to admit some of them look pretty good.. others.. bleh

I think they look great. I do like some better than others but as a whole I'm very impressed.
I'm surprised to say that I think scratchy is probably my favorite.

I am more interested in Blinky(the 3 eyes fish tank) that I could keep it in my modular pet shop. Burns's suit could be migrated into City minifigs. Itchy, Scratchy, and Krusty are not bad. Counting out the factor of inflated price, I think this is a nice set of minifigs for Simpsons fans.
I know many of you found these overpriced. However, how often could we collect a set of licensed minfigs without buying multiple "expensive" and "boring" box sets? Too bad TMNT is not available in CMF series. Look, I only want the electro minifig from 76014 but I will have to pay $16 to get him!
I may grab a set of this series of minifigs even I am not a big fans of Simpsons.

I just caved recently, and bought the Simpsons House over the Parisian Restaurant, as a well-deserved gift to myself
and double VIP points!
I am a closet Simpsons fan, tho I must admit, I stopped watching it for many years……but I can't wait to see the Lego Episode of the Simpsons in May! (this really shoulda happened with Star Trek)
I just saw an old episode with Homer as Captain Pie Man, and Bart as the Cupcake Kid. I think those would make cool Lego minifigs. I also would luv to see Otto, Patty and Selma, Moe, Barney, Santa's Little Helper, Duff Man, Groundskeeper Willie, Moe's Tavern, the Power Plant, Krusty Burgers, the Springfield School Bus, Kwik E Mart, Lard Lad Donuts, Duff Beer Brewery…but alas, I know some will never be Legoed, for obvious reasons.

Good points!mattlee1965 wrote:I'm really disappointed. I think this could be the worst series yet. Furthermore, I don't know who they were trying to appeal to (20-50 year olds). No parent lets their 8 year old watch the Simpsons. Furthermore, I am not paying $4.00 a figure for only unique heads that have no usefulness in a moc.
They should have done a Marvel Super Heroe polybag series that would have been awesome. (X-men figures) :(

Do you think these figs will be around by xmas or just the next 3 months until the next series comes out?

I'd guess they won't still be actively stocking these by christmas though they will definitely still be available if you really want them then.slacker wrote:Do you think these figs will be around by xmas or just the next 3 months until the next series comes out?
Blind bag figures have a quicker turn around than standard sets. I'm guessing something new will be hitting the shelves prior to christmas...though we haven't had licensed theme blind bag figures before so maybe they will stick around longer than normal.
Re: LEGO The Simpsons Series Minifigures (List Revealed)
Based on conversations with a few Lego employees, I think this set will last as long as the other series. 3 months. Went to the Lego store and was surprised who was popular and maybe rare. Every boy wants Bart. Took me a while to find one and I did. Chief Wiggum and scratchy were pretty tough. Also had a hard time telling the difference ralph and milhouse.
Re: LEGO The Simpsons Series Minifigures (List Revealed)
I was determined to not get excited about the Simpsons figures because I need to tighten my budget and rein in my LEGO obsession. The higher price (3.99 per figure) was a good excuse. Also I didn't feel that the Simpsons figures were as useful for moc's as other previous series. I told myself that I would buy only Krusty the clown. I saw them yesterday at my local Wal-mart and started feeling for Krusty. I ended up buying Krusty and Maggie bc I wanted Krusty for parts. Krusty's head and pie I thought would be fun and useful. With Maggie it was the torso and teddy bear that I wanted. I ended up buying Bart and Homer as well to keep unopened in case either I decide that I or my son want them in the future. I may purchase Marge and Lisa as well in the future so that have the whole immediate family. Even after opening the two (Krusty and Maggie) I'm still not crazy about them. I've decided that I simply love collecting LEGO and have mixed feelings about the simpson's line. Krusty will be fun to photograph. I will have fun with that one. Kang and Kodos anyone? Those would be fun.

Does this mean you won't accept the prize if you win the microbuild contest?StClair wrote:I was determined to not get excited about the Simpsons figures because I need to tighten my budget and rein in my LEGO obsession. Ha ha ha.... I was about to vote for StClair's First Church of Springfield because his microbuild was not bad. Now I could save my votes for other entries.SEK527 wrote: Does this mean you won't accept the prize if you win the microbuild contest?

I did buy Krusty and Maggie at $3.99. Later I found them at Meijer's for $2.99 so I bought Marge, Lisa, Bart, Homer and an extra Krusty to store away in case I want them in the future or in case my son wants them later. My son has a habit of deciding that he wants minifigs after they have been discontinuedSEK527 wrote:Does this mean you won't accept the prize if you win the microbuild contest?
I'm still not crazy about the Simpson's minifigs because of their molded heads (less compatible with regular minifigs.. I'm old school... I prefer yellow over flesh although I do buy a few of the superhero ones and things other licensed ones like Harry Potter). I do think some of them look really good like Apu.
I love the Simpson's house. It looks like a fun build with lots of light tans (or is it brick yellow). If I knew they would continue the line with more small builds like Moe's Tavern or the Kwik Mart I would possibly buy more of them. I just can't wait to get back to regular collectible minifigs (although I was very pleased with the LEGO Movie minifigs in blind bags). Krang and Krodos, Bleeding Gums Murray, Otto, and Groundskeeper Willie I would buy without hesitating if they were to make those. Futurama I wouldn't mind buying either. The Futurama building or ship would be a cool build. I've seen several microscale versions of the Futurama building.

Since you love the house you better win 1st place! I don't think there are plans to expand the Simpsons line. I was hoping for The DMV with Marge's sisters.StClair wrote:I did buy Krusty and Maggie at $3.99.
